Goal Showcase: Back pain & mobility with spina bifida

Mick lives with spina bifida, a birth defect affecting the spine. This condition presents challenges with mobility and causes back pain. His primary goals are to gain more independence and contribute to his community. Specifically, he mentioned that he would like to be able to help his dad pick up sticks around the yard. He has a big yard so this is a big job for his retired parents.

To achieve this, we have been working with Mick and focusing on exercises that improve mobility, strength, and flexibility, while also addressing back pain. Stretching, resistance training, and balance exercises have been integral to our client's progress.

Our mission is to help clients gain independence and achieve real goals, one step at a time.

while we use clinical tests and metrics as part of our treatment process, the real outcomes happen at home and in the community.
